Radio Gdansk News in English: Polish PM to visit Kyiv | Duda asks to reappoint national bank chief | Polish athletes test positive for COVID-19 at Olympics | High winds wreak havoc in Pomerania

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will visit Kyiv this week to hold talks with the Ukrainian president and prime minister. On Saturday, government spokesperson Piotr Müller announced via social media that Morawiecki would be visiting the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday to show that “Poland supports Ukraine in its efforts to prevent Russian aggression.”

The announcement comes after the Polish parliament adopted a new resolution expressing Poland’s support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing threat of a Russian invasion.

The resolution calls on NATO and the European Union to offer Ukraine more “comprehensive support” amid intensifying tensions with Moscow. It also condemned Russia for undermining peace in Europe and breaking international law.

The resolution had near-unanimous support across the political spectrum of the Sejm and was approved on Thursday with 456 votes in favor and only one opposed.
