English Service: Bernie Sanders wins big in Nevada

Voters in the US state of Nevada were “feeling the Bern” after handing a decisive win to “self-described democratic socialist” Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Nevada Democratic caucuses yesterday.

As of 13:00 CET, Sanders was winning with 46.6% of the vote, followed by former vice president Joe Biden with 19.2% and “Mayor Pete” Buttiegieg with just over 15%. According to Reuters, the second-place showing is a lifeline for the Biden campaign after the dismal results of the elections in Iowa and New Hampshire, where Biden finished 4th and 5th, respectively.

All eyes are now on the South Carolina primary set for February 29 and the so-called “Super Tuesday” primaries on March 3, in which 14 states and Democrats Abroad will cast their ballots for the next Democratic presidential nominee.
