Poland’s prime minister said on Thursday that only if Moscow changes its “aggressive” policy towards its neighbours will there be grounds for discussing closer ties between the European Union and Russia.

Poland boss Paulo Sousa will keep his job even though his players failed to make it past the group stage of the Euro 2020 tournament, the country’s football chief has said.
The head of the Polish Football Association, told reporters that he would not fire Sousa even though the national squad’s early exit from the tournament left many fans heartbroken. „Paulo Sousa is a very good coach” who inspires the players and knows how to „pull the team together,” Boniek said at a news conference in Gdańsk on Thursday. He also voiced hope that the Poles would qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under Sousa.

A prominent Japanese scholar and expert in Polish Studies, has received the Transatlantyk Award from Poland’s Book Institute for his achievements in promoting Polish culture in Japan.
The Transatlantyk Award is an annual distinction given to an outstanding “ambassador” of Polish literature abroad. I am an importer of Polish culture to Japan even though this is not a lucrative occupation. In a statement, Tokimasa Sekiguchi said „If someone asks me why I am doing it, I say that in this way I am repaying a debt a gratitude to my Polish friends who brought me up and educated me, starting with my first visit to Kraków from 1974 to 1976”.

An as yet unidentified jogger decided to ignore the warning signs at a raised drawbridge that connects to Sobieszewo island near Gdańsk and jumped across the open bridge during its operation.
CCTV footage from the incident shows the man ignoring the red lights, the barriers and even the bridge operator who attempts to stop him from crossing and then runs to the open bridge before jumping to the other side. The bridge was only open a small amount but the consequences for the man could have been fatal. The city authorities reminded people on it’s Facebook page that we only have one life and it’s worth taking care of.
