The former Polish Prime Minister and leader of the opposition party Donald Tusk has announced a bill to amend the Polish constitution to make it harder for Poland to leave the EU if a future decision was made to do so. Tusk, a former top European Union official, would like to amend the constitution so that the only way Poland could leave would be through a referendum or by a two thirds majority in both chambers of parliament. Tusk, who headed the European Council for five years until 2019, said his KO grouping had collected the necessary signatures of 92 MPs and would now submit the bill to parliament.
