Record Number of Poles Abroad Register to Vote
Over half a million Poles abroad have registers to vote in the October 15 election. On Tuesday, Poland’s Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau made the statement: “Four years ago there were 314,000 Polish voters registered abroad, now there are over 560,000” Rau also mentioned that this is a record in Polish history.
The deadline to register was Tuesday the 10th, and the number was still expected to surge up to 600,000 by midnight. Rau added that there even were fears that polling stations would not be able to cope with the volume of international voters, so overseas electoral commissions were increased by 70%.

Kazimierz Pułaski Memorial Day in US
Many may not know just how far back the Polish-American relationship goes, which would be to the very origin of the United States. A Memorial Day was held on Wednesday for the famous Polish-American Kazimierz Pułaski, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the American War for Independence against the British Empire.
American President Joe Biden noted in his statement for the occasion that Pułaski had spent most of his life fighting against Russian oppression at home, and that he had helped America to do the same against Britain when he had learned of the young nation’s struggle, giving his life so that the idea of freedom, equality, and democracy might live.

Poland to Build Grain Port in Gdańsk
Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus has announced that the government has signed a deal with the Baltic Port of Gdańsk to construct a grain terminal. The minister also stated that the government would arrange a 15 billion zloty aid package to Polish farmers affected by the war in Ukraine and related market disturbances.

Hubert Hurkacz Advances to Shanghai Masters Quarterfinals
Hubert Hurkacz, The 26 year old Polish tennis player, ranked no. 17 in the world, was victorious against China’s Zhizhen with results 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 in round 4 of the men’s singles on Tuesday. Hurkacz will next face off against Hungary’s Fabian Maroszan for the right to participate in the semifinals. The Shanghai Masters will continue until Sunday.
