The Polish government is trying to evacuate Polish nationals who are trapped in Gaza during Israel’s ongoing bombardment of the enclave.
Poland’s Foreign Minister has said he has discussed the situation of Polish families trapped in Gaza in a phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart. It is believed that around 30 Poles remain in the area among an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 foreign nationals. More than 10,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli air-strikes in the past month – with nearly half of those killed, around 4,400, being children, according to a number of reliable sources. Both sides in the conflict are accused of committing war crimes. The current war between Israel and Hamas broke out on October 7th, when the Palestinian Islamist group launched attacks from the Gaza Strip, killing 1,400 people and kidnapping more than 200 as hostages

The spokesman also said that „MPs who are willing to support these policies will be invited to government formation talks.” He added that „informal consultations have already taken place.” After the elections, the ruling party does not have an outright majority and so must form a coalition which is widely believed to be unlikely to be achieved. The spokesman confirmed this, saying „it would be unfair to our voters not to try”

One of the largest coffee producers in the world – Jacobs Douwe Egberts – decided to place its new, large high-tech investment in the Polish region of lower Lower Silesia.
Thanks to a grant from the Polish government – the project will be both much larger and more impressive than originally planned. The well-known global company decided to place their new coffee factory in the 20.000-inhabitant Polish city of Jawor, which recently acts like a super-magnet for large-scale global investments. Jacobs’ initial declarations from December 2022 mentioned a budget of EUR 63 million. However, after obtaining a grant from the Polish government in the amount of EUR 16,5 million, the project was updated and developed – and ultimately its estimated cost is close to EUR 140 million.
