In a statement, the White House announced it will host a visit by President Duda on Wednesday the 24th. The two presidents are expected to discuss a range of issues, from trade and defence to energy and cyber security.
The meeting comes at a time of increasing cooperation between Washington and Warsaw, including increasing numbers of US troops in Poland and efforts to stop the NordStream2 gas pipline from Russia to Germany.
The meeting will come just days before the Polish presidential election, scheduled for June 28th. It will also be President Trump’s first meeting with a head of state since the pandemic began.

The study, conducted across 175 UK hospitals and more than 6000 patients, found that dexamethasone, a cheap and widely available steroid drug, reduced the death rate of patients on ventilators by a third. In patients needing oxygen, the death rate was cut by a fifth.

Polish presidential candidates clashed last night in a televised debate. The 11 candidates discussed a range of issues from refugee relocation programmes to the adoption of the Euro in Poland to the issue of LGBT rights.
The two leading candidates are currently incumbent Andrzej Duda of the Law and Justice party, and Civic Platform’s Rafał Trzaskowski. Recent opinion polls show Duda with a strong lead in the first round, but level pegging at 46% each in a second round run-off.
Poles are due to vote on June 28th, with a second round on July 12th should no candidate secure a majority.
