The number of people who require hospitalization due to COVID-19 is growing across Pomerania, despite more severe lockdown restrictions in the region.
According to reports by local doctors, temporary field hospitals, such as the one at AmberExpo in Gdańsk and MSWiA in Sopot, are completely full, and only 130 places and 10 ventilators are available in level 2 specialist hospitals.
In addition to a high incidence rate in the region, more and more young and middle-aged people (those between the ages of 30-50) are being admitted to hospitals and requiring oxygen therapy and access to a ventilator.
Officials are advising Pomerian residents to observe strict safety and sanitary guidelines, including limiting interpersonal contacts, wearing masks, frequently disinfecting hands, and maintaining social distancing in public.

A Russian national claiming to be a reporter has been denied entry into the territory of Poland, per a request by the head of Poland’s Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW).
According to Stanisław Żaryn, the spokesman for Poland’s security services chief, the man in question, Evgeniy Reshetnev, planned to engage in activities “beyond [his] scope of work as a journalist that “posed a threat to the interests of Poland” and NATO.
Reshetnev has been banned from entering Poland for a period of five years and is also subject to a three-year ban on entering the European Union’s passport-free Schengen area.
In a statement posted on the gov.pl website, Żaryn claimed it was “common for the Russian Federation to use its journalists working in Poland for the purposes of waging information warfare against our country, NATO and the West.” He went on to describe Poland as one of the „prime targets” for „Russia’s disinformation and propaganda efforts.”
