A study commissioned by the pro-European Polish Robert Schuman and German Konrad Adenauer Foundations has found that the average Polish citizen is earning around 1,400 PLN more under EU membership than they would have if Poland had not joined the EU.
The study also discovered that the minimum wage in Poland would be PLN 800 less per month, putting Poland on a par with the bloc’s poorest member state, Bulgaria. The report states that being part of the bloc accounts for more than half of Poland’s GDP growth since 2003.

Two Poles – an engineer and a former banker – have come up with an idea that will allow the conversion of rubbish into hydrogen and the cost-effective technology will be usable anywhere in the world.
The pair say that one ton of waste will yield 51 kilograms of hydrogen, which is as much as a hydrogen-powered bus needs to travel 600 kilometres. The technology will also allow for the use of any most kinds of rubbish as source material. The high temperature treatment of the rubbish also allows heat to be captured as well as CO2 to be trapped. The left over rubbish resembles lava and can be crushed to be used as a kind of gravel.

The innovative procedure allows surgery to be done without opening up the sternum and leads to faster recovery times, less scarring and less discomfort for the patient. The first patient was a 74 year old woman with a complex heart defect who has fully recovered after the surgery.
