North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was due to arrive in Moscow this morning for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, presumably to discuss supplying weapons to the Russian army.

According to reports by the Associated Press and the New York Times, Russian troops attacking Ukraine are particularly short of artillery ammunition, which is why Moscow may be interested in obtaining such weaponry from North Korea.

Pyongyang likely has tens of millions of artillery and missile shells manufactured based on Soviet technology. According to the AP, the possible transfer of even part of this arsenal to Russia would provide substantial support for its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

US spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters yesterday the US would “hold accountable” and “aggressively enforce” existing sanctions against “entities that fund Russia’s war effort.” According to Miller, Russia’s need to work with an “international pariah” like North Korea and leader Kim Jong Un demonstrates that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was “a strategic failure.”

Polish citizens joined Americans and others around the world yesterday to commemorate victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

As a result of the attacks on September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people died, over 6,000 were injured, and tens of thousands more continue to suffer from ongoing physical and mental health issues. Over 370 of those killed in the attacks were foreign nationals, including 6 Poles.
In honor of fellow firefighters who died on September 11, a group of 30 Polish firefighters from Kurzętnik made an honorary climb on Monday to the top of the Observation Tower on nearby Kurzeja Góra in Warmia-Masury.

The two-kilometer climb along the footbridge to the tower, which the group completed in full firefighting gear, was intended to honor the memory of the 343 firefighters who died in the attacks in New York 22 years ago.

According to Minister of Digital Affairs Janusz Cieszyński, the new feature, provisionally called “mTV,” will be unveiled in the following term and will offer users the chance to “stream sports events, as well as digitized works of Polish culture” and “publicly-funded music.”

Cieszyński announced the planned feature on Sunday in a post on the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, emphasizing that “in the coming decades, technological development will be the basis of growth.”

An abandoned castle complex that has long served as a local tourist destination may finally be used for its intended purpose after local officials paved the way for the owner to legally complete its construction.

Local government officials from Kartuzy recently adopted a spatial development plan for the area of the village of Łapalice, where the unauthorized construction of the infamous castle was initially started in the 1980s.

The development plan, which has been under discussion for the past three years, would allow the owner to obtain an official building permit. According to the city authorities, the owner is still interested in completing the investment, which has been slowly deteriorating over the years and lacks proper fencing and safeguards.

The unfinished hotel complex remains a popular tourist destination and a frequent site of accidents.
