Head of Poland’s National Bureau of Security Jacek Siewiera has announced that the Polish nationals located in Gaza have made it through the Rafah crossing and are now on the Egyptian side.

With the evacuation currently underway, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński made a statement thanking Polish diplomats, consuls, employees of embassies in Egypt, Palestine, Israel, and the Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying „Many days of work paid off today. Poland is grateful for your service!”

The First Session of the Sejm of the 10th Term began today just minutes ago at noon. The proceedings were opened by Senior Marshal Marek Sawicki appointed by President Andrzej Duda. Followed by the national anthem and addresses from the President and Senior Marshal, representatives of the Sejm will take their oath and decide first on the new Speaker of the Sejm.

The largest item on the agenda is forming a new government. The President and other members of government will decide upon a prime minister; within 2 weeks of the PM’s appointment they are to present the proposed new government’s programs and activities and motion for a vote of confidence. The Sejm must adopt the policies with an absolute majority in the presence of at least half the statutory number of deputies.

Head of Poland’s Central Bank Adam Glapinski has stated that Poland should discuss entry into the Eurozone no earlier than 8 years. He briefly gave his reasoning saying „The debate on Poland’s entry into the eurozone may begin in eight to ten years at the earliest when Poland reaches a more similar level of development to Western countries.”

Poland is formally committed to adopting the Euro in its accession treaty with the EU, but a date for the currency to replace the zloty has never been specified. Glapinski has previously said that he would not have Poland adopt the euro during his term, stating that a too-early adoption of the currency could lead to a „radical drop in the rate of GDP growth.”

Karol Milewski has become the first Pole to win the Mr. Olympia title. The 36 year old bodybuilder took a hard victory against previous champion Harold Kelly from America in the wheelchair division.

Milewski was involved in a car accident in 2010, and was given the diagnosis by doctors that he would not walk again, which evidently was not enough to stop him from becoming a world class champion bodybuilder.
