Ukraine can count on the European Union, the bloc’s leaders told the country’s new president in Kiev on Monday at a summit intended to boost political and economic ties with Poland’s eastern neighbour.

Ukraine’s first-ever batch of US crude oil was unloaded in the country’s Black Sea port of Odessa at the weekend. A total of 75,000 tonnes of crude oil from the US arrived onboard an American tanker named Wisdom Venture, the port’s press service said in a statement.

The new rules are expected to take effect from August 1st, this year. In an unusual example of cross-party support, the Government sponsored Bill was supported by 419 members of the lower house of Poland’s parliament who voted for this change in the law while four were against. There were no abstentions.

Unemployment in Poland dropped to a low of 5.3 percent in June, from 5.4 percent in May, the country’s labour ministry said this week. The figure marked the lowest jobless rate in Poland in 28 years. The national Central Statistical Office reported last month that Poland’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.4 percent in May, from 5.6 percent in April.

Poland’s interest rates are likely to remain unchanged until at least the end of 2021, Poland’s central bank chief has said.
