There’s a new US ambassador to Poland, after a year in which the post was vacant. Marek Brzezinski was sworn in yesterday at the White House by US vice president Kamala Harris. The diplomat was previously the USA’s ambassador to Sweden during Barack Obama’s presidency, and he was on Bill Clinton’s National Security Council as Director for Russia.
Poland showed the strongest jobs growth of any EU country over the course of the pandemic, according to new figures. Employment data from the agency Eurostat shows that the employment rate in Poland rose 2.4 percent over two years to the end of 2021.
