Brexit is reportedly „in chaos” after a Scottish court declared the suspension of Parliament to be „unlawful” and a report detailing potential ramifications of a no-deal Brexit was made public yesterday.
According to Reuters, the controversial „Operation Yellowhammer” report warns of potentially severe disruptions in goods crossing the English Channel, which would in turn negatively impact the supply of medicines, fuel, and certain foodstuffs, a situation which could lead to mass protests and “a possible rise in public disorder.”
In response, former Attorney General and ousted Conservative MP Dominic Grieve issued a renewed call for a second referendum to include a „remain” option. He is joined by Tom Watson of the opposition Labor Party and a growing number of MPs fearful of the looming potential of a no-deal Brexit.
While a Scottish court ruled the prorogation of Parliament to be unlawful, the judges stopped short of ordering the UK government to reconvene Parliament. A final decision on the matter has been left to the UK Supreme Court, which will hold hearings on the subject next week.

A little over a week after visiting Poland to discuss US troop deployment, National Security Advisor John Bolton was dismissed via Twitter on Tuesday by US President Donald Trump.
In a tweet explaining why Bolton’s services “were no longer needed at the White House,” Trump wrote that he „disagreed strongly with many of [Bolton’s] suggestions, as did others in the Administration.” Bolton’s advocacy for a hardline stance against Russia alongside support of military interventions in the Middle East and Afghanistan were often at odds with Trump’s more isolationist “America First” doctrine.
While Bolton claims it was his own decision to resign, the dismissal came as a shock to many as Bolton had only recently met with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak to discuss deployment locations in Poland for additional US troops, a project which has yet to be realized.
In a later press briefing, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attempted to allay the concerns of US allies by claiming that no one should assume that „because one of us departs, that President Trump’s foreign policy will change in a material way.”

As part of its “Accessible Culture” program, Helios cinemas will be screening the feature documentary film Who Will Write Our History detailing the struggle to document the realities of life in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1940.
The film is a fictionalized account of the actual efforts of a secret band of journalists, scholars and community leaders to create the Warsaw Ghetto Archive, a true-to-life depiction of life in the Warsaw Ghetto as told by its inhabitants. Lead by historian Dr. Emanuel Ringelblum and known by the code name Oneg Shabbat or „Joy of the Sabbath,” the group vowed to defeat Nazi lies and propaganda “not with guns or fists but with pen and paper.”
The resulting “Ringelblum Archive” was included in the UNESCO „Memory of the World Register” in 1999 as a monument of world heritage. According to UNESCO, the archive, which was recovered from the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto, is „absolutely unique, both in terms of its origin and its historic value.” Covering not only the Warsaw Ghetto but the whole of occupied Poland, the archive serves as „one of the most important testimonies about the extermination of the Polish Jews.”
The film, which is in English with Polish subtitles, will be screened at 1pm and 6pm in Helios cinemas around Trómiasto, with discounted tickets available for 10 zloty. The „Accessible Culture” program, which is offered in conjunction with Narodowe Centrum Kultury, features a different critically- acclaimed Polish film at Helios cinemas every Thursday at 13:00 and 18:00, with discounted tickets for all showings.
