Ukraine has the right to defend itself, the Polish Foreign Minister has said on Thursday during a visit to Kiev after a build-up of Russian forces near Ukraine’s eastern border.

The minister held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart during a visit that officials in Warsaw described as „extraordinary and urgent” and „associated with a threat to peace at Ukraine’s borders.” The Polish foreign minister’s trip to Kiev came after what has been described as destabilizing moves by Russia, the escalation of tensions in eastern Ukraine, the concentration of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine, and an intensification of Russian propaganda.
