Teens under the age of 18 have been given the green light to sign up for COVID-19 shots as Poland ramps up its inoculation campaign.
Registration for those aged 16 and 17 opened at the stroke of midnight last night. As vaccination of minors requires parental consent in Poland, teenagers are urged to complete the initial screening questionnaire together with their parents.
A downloadable questionnaire is available online via the official MZ Twitter account (@MZ_GOV_PL) or on the official government vaccination website at https://www.gov.pl/web/szczepimysie/rejestracja.
For now, only Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech) has been cleared for teenagers by the European Medicines Agency. The other three coronavirus vaccines used in Poland–Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, and Moderna–are only authorized for adults aged 18 and over.
As of Sunday, almost 11.5 million first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Poland, and more than 4.5 million people had been fully inoculated.
