Tusk, who headed the European Council for five years until 2019, said his KO grouping had collected the necessary signatures of 92 MPs and would now submit the bill to parliament.

Poland’s health minister has said that he expects the fourth wave of Coronavirus to peak in Poland in November or December with up to 40,000 daily infections.

Cases of COVID in Poland have already started to rise in recent days with 1,362 new cases on Friday. However, the number of infections remained low compared to last year, even though the current dominant „delta” strain of the virus is much more contagious than last year’s strain. The minister said that the most important number from a policy point of view was the number of hospitalisations from COVID which would be monitored closely.
