War in Ukraine day 95. Ukrainian defenders in Severodonetsk are reportedly in a „difficult defensive situation” as Russian forces continue to attack the city in an attempt to claim occupation of the entire Luhansk region.

According to the US Institute for War Research (ISW), „Severodonetsk itself is important at this stage of the war mainly because it is the last significant population center in the Luhansk Oblast, which the Russians do not control.”

Oleksandr Striuk, head of the administration of Severodonetsk, recently told CNN that the fiercest fighting is taking place around the Mir hotel and on the outskirts of the city. „The sounds of fighting can be heard near the central bus station,” Striuk claimed. „The city is under constant fire.”

Electricity and mobile cell service in the city have been cut off, with water currently supplied by generators to six or seven open reservoirs. Gathering water is dangerous, says Striuk, „because as soon as people gather to get some water, the shelling begins.”

He also reported that humanitarian and medical services have mostly been suspended as it is too risky to move around the city, and evacuation is „very dangerous.”

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has denied rumors of an informal agreement within NATO barring the transfer of Western-made heavy armaments to Ukraine.

At a conference in Prague on Friday, the British and Czech foreign ministers called the claims in German media „completely untrue.”

„We are very clear,” Truss emphasized, that „it is completely legitimate to be supporting Ukraine with tanks and planes.” She added that the UK would continue to support countries helping Ukraine in its war with Russia, including backfilling tanks to replace those Poland has sent to Ukraine.

Truss also spoke about the need to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank and support the rapid accession of Sweden and Finland to the Alliance. Echoing the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, she also called for continuing to put pressure on Russia through sanctions and creating a plan for rebuilding Ukraine.

A new bus line and traffic diversions will start this week in Gdańsk Oliva after complaints of traffic jams due to ongoing roadwork on Opacka Street.

As of May 30, traffic lights will be extended at the intersection of Grunwaldzka Alley and Pomorska Street, and adjustments at the intersection of Jacek Rybiński Street and Grunwaldzka Alley will make turning toward Sopot possible from two lanes.
