Prime Minister Morawiecki announced an additional loosening of restrictions to take effect May 30, specifically the lifting of requirements to wear face masks outside in public. Masks must still be worn inside places where the 2m social distancing requirement cannot be observed, i.e., in salons, stores, etc.. Mask requirements may stay in effect for provinces with high rates of infection, such as in the coal-mining region of Silesia. Limits on the number of customers in shops and restaurants will also no longer be in effect as of May 30.
As of June 6, cinemas, theaters, concert halls, and fitness centers are allowed to reopen with the suggestion of restricting capacity to 50% and the requirement to wear masks. Additionally, weddings and family celebrations up to 150 people will be allowed as long as additional sanitary conditions are observed.
Excluding the ongoing outbreak in the region of Silesia, the Ministry of Health has reported no new outbreaks. As of 10:00 this morning, there are 22,303 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Poland and 546 in Pomerania. Of these, 1,025 people have died, and 10, 330 have recovered.

Football resumes without spectators
Last night saw the first official post-lockdown football match in Poland, with underdogs Miedź Legnica losing to Legia Warsaw 2-1 in the Polish Cup quarterfinal. Additional safety precautions in place for the match will continue throughout the 2019/2020 season, including a requirement to test players before each game and a ban on spectators.
Lechia Gdańsk fans have an additional way to show their support “in-person” despite being unable to attend matches. For 75 PLN, fans can purchase a photo cutout of themselves to be be placed in the stands as part of the “Fans at the Stadium” campaign. Today is the last day to take advantage of the campaign in order to have your likeness be “present” during the upcoming TriCity Derby. Applications can be made online at the Lechia Gdańsk website at https://bilety.lechia.pl.
Fans of the white and green have high hopes for this remainder of the season; Lechia Gdańsk won last season’s Polish Cup final after beating Jagiellonia Białystok 1-0 on May 2, 2019. The next Polish Cup match will take place tonight at 20:10 between Stal Mielec and Lech Poznan.
The next matches for Ekstraklasa will be held this Friday, with Silesia Wroclaw facing off against Rakow Częstochowa at 18.00, followed by Pogoń Szczecin KGHM and Zagłębie Lubin at 20:30.

Gdańsk marks 30 years of local government
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the return of local governance in Poland, an event now celebrated every May 27 as Local Government Day.
Earlier today, local officials met to commemorate the event and announce the publication of the book “Gdańsk yesterday and today.” This evening at 18:00 the European Solidarity Center will also host a debate on self-government in Poland featuring the mayors of Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia, along with numerous other local officials including the Marshal of the Pomeranian voivodship.
The debate will be broadcast on the Gdańsk city portal at https://www.gdańsk.pl and the Facebook page of the Solidarity Center.

Free financial assistance workshops
For business owners and entrepreneurs, the State Agency for Enterprise Development has launched a series of free trainings on how to take advantage of solutions contained in the anti-crisis and financial shield.
A total of 20 online workshops have been planned as part of the “Crisis Shield for Business” series, which will feature experts in the fields of law, finance, and economics discussing various financial support measures available to entrepreneurs. Today’s training will run from 13:00-15:00 and will focus on extended deadlines for entrepreneurs to declare and pay taxes.

Get lost in nature with a free guidebook for kids
For those wanting to take advantage of the fantastic weather with the little ones, the State Forestry Agency, in conjunction with the organization “Mamy Projekt” has developed a free illustrated activity and guidebook for children about the forests of Pomerania.
“Niemapa. The Forests of Gdańsk Pomerania” provides suggestions for day trips as well as ideas for games and activities for children of all ages. As its creators emphasize, each place placed on “Niemapa” has been checked by verified experts, i.e., families with children. The publication includes not only forests in the Tri-City area, but also areas of the Vistula Spit and the Żuławy region.
The activity book can be downloaded for free from the State Forestry (Lasy Państwowe) website or on the project website at http://www.niemapa.pl. A print version will also be available at service and information points of the Pomeranian forest service, as well as the Forest Botanical Garden “Marszewo” (Leśny Ogród Botaniczny “Marszewo”) in Gdynia.
