North Korea has denied that it has sold arms to Russian in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
The anonymous source told the BBC that Pyongyang had not sold any arms and did not intend to do so in the future. The USA had suspected attempts by Russia to purchase arms from North Korea and Iran among other countries, but has stated that sanctions against Russia have made these transactions more difficult for Russia. North Korea’s relations with Russia cooled after the collapse of the Soviet Union, however the dictatorship blamed the „West’s hegemony” for the war in Ukraine. National Security Council Communications Coordinator John Kirkby said that the US does not have evidence of North Korea concluding such a transaction.

The Polish climate and environment ministry has put aside EUR 2.9 million euros to help revitalise the Oder river which was suffered a massive fish die-off over the summer.
A deputy minister made the announcement at a briefing in the north-western city of Szczecin on Thursday. The minister said that the decision „stems from a sense of responsibility not only for what happened on the Oder, but also for what will take place next.” Financed by Poland’s regional environmental-protection authorities from the Oder area, the programme is titled „Reconstruction of the ecosystem and biological diversity of the river Oder”. The minister added that the money would be targeted at companies with contracts for building the Oder’s fish stocks and at universities conducting scientific research on the river.

The Polish national football team has lost to the Netherlands in their match on home soil in the UEFA Nations League fifth round.
The guests scored in either half to secure an important win at Poland’s National Stadium in the capital Warsaw. The result means Poland are third in Nations League A Group 4, having collected four points so far. They are six points behind second-placed Belgium. The Netherlands, meanwhile, sit at the top of the group on 13 points. Poland next play Wales in Cardiff on Sunday, needing a point to avoid relegation to Nations League B.

And finally, the iconic sign that has greeted visitors to Gdańsk zoo and passers by on Spacerowa street in the Oliwa district for more than 50 years has been taken down.
The move follows a dispute with local residents who the city sold the plot of land to where the sign used to sit. Residents had asked that the zoo pay a nominal yearly fee for the sign to be located on the land and the zoo refused the request. The zoo had offered free tickets and guided tours of the zoo to the residents and a compromise could not be found and so the sign has now been removed. The sign featured three elephants standing on an arrow with each elephant carrying one of the letters spelling the word „zoo”.
