US, Israeli, and Qatari Officials Meet in Warsaw for Further Hostage Negotiations
The US and Israeli Directors of Intelligence met with the Qatari PM in Warsaw yesterday to discuss further prisoner exchanges. CIA Director Bill Burns reportedly played a key role in securing the hundred freed hostages last month.
The last meeting between the Director of the Israeli Mossad David Barnea and the Qatari PM took place three days ago concerning the same subject. It has been seventy-three days since the escalation of the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

G7 Considers Seizing Russian Assets to Help Aid Ukraine
The G7 group of nations is currently exploring the option of seizing Russian state assets abroad, valued at around USD 300 billion, to help fund Ukraine’s war effort. The course of action began consideration after recent political disputes considering the West’s further economic contributions to Ukraine.
The move would be a significant escalation of economic sanctions against Russia, but Britains David Cameron emphasized the urgency of the proposition saying “extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.”

Decision to Disband Ukraine Border Protest Overturned
A decision made by local mayor Wojciech Sawa of Dorohusk to withdraw permission for Polish truckers protesting on the border with Ukraine was overturned by the District Court of Lublin. The protestors have already resumed their blockade.
The reason for the disbanding of the protest according to Mayor Sawa was a “large-scale threat to property and the blocking of traffic.” District Court Judge Piotr Ryng disagreed with his reasoning, stating that “the purpose of the protest is not to prevent border checks or to stop traffic, but is intended to slow traffic and assumes the priority of passage for emergency and military vehicles, perishables and humanitarian aid.”

Polish Parliament to Host Charity Christmas Dinner
This week the Polish parliament will be hosting a Christmas dinner for the homeless and others in need. The event shall take place on Friday the 22nd and was organized by new Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia.
There will reportedly be space for hundreds of guests with food and drink being provided by the Sejm’s own catering service. Hołownia’s office wrote to several charities inviting its constituents saying “Christmas is a time no one should be alone, community means taking care of each other.”

Poland Wins Two Gold Medals in World Youth Sailing Championship
Three of Poland’s representatives at the World Youth Sailing Competition in Brazil have won two Olympic level gold medals for their age category. Stanislaw Trepczyński of the iQFoil class and Ewa Lewandowska and Julia Żmudzuńska of the 29er class are now world champions.
