The United States and the United Kingdom have renewed the historic Atlantic Charter, originally drafted in wartime 1941 and updated for the 21st century as the leaders met for the annual G7 summit of the world’s most powerful nations.
UK prime minister Boris Johnson and US president Joe Biden signed the updated document in the Cornish village of in the UK where the G7 are meeting.
The original alliance affirms commitments to democracy, open societies, and a rules-based world order. The second iteration continues these themes, but has also been modernized, with references to cyber security, disinformation, and the countries’ nuclear deterrents.

A fan zone will be set up at the National Stadium in Warsaw allowing supporters to savour the atmosphere as Poland plays Spain away on June 19 in the Euro 2020 championships.
The zone will be able to accommodate a maximum of 30,000 people. Entry will be free, but fans will have to download a special ticket from the strefakibica.com website.
Poland, under their Portuguese manager Paulo Sousa, kick off their Euro 2020 group-stage campaign with a fixture against Slovakia on June 14. The Poles will next take on Spain in Seville on Saturday, June 19, at 9pm. They will then play Sweden four days later.

Poland’s Iga Świątek and Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States have made it into the finals of the women’s doubles competition at the French Open tennis tournament in Paris.
The Pole and the American beat the duo of Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu and Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska 6-3, 6-4 in their semi-final match on Friday. Świątek and Mattek-Sands, the No. 14 seeds, make their bid for the championship title on Sunday. They will take on second-seeded Czechs Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková, who defeated Poland’s Magda Linette and America’s Bernarda Pera 6-1, 6-2 in the semi-finals on Friday.

Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki has applauded the „Maritime Forum” initiative created by Radio Gdańsk.
The 1st Maritime Forum of Radio Gdańsk was held on June 10th and 11th with representatives of the world of science, experts and presidents of leading Polish companies taking part in six debates in the radio Gdańsk studios.
In a written letter to the station the PM also thanked the station saying „for the first time in its history it became the initiator and organizer of a series of programs, debates and congress meetings devoted to maritime issues and the economic use of the Baltic Sea”.
