Poles can from Thursday get their second coronavirus shot at any medical centre across the country, irrespective of where they had their first dose.
The move makes it easier for people going on vacation to be inoculated. Up to now, Poles have been receiving their second shot at the same facility in which they had their first. Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said holidaymakers can receive their first or second shot at a clinic or facility wherever they are staying, if free slots and vaccines are available there. The change of rules comes as the government is trying to increase inoculation rates amid the summer holiday season. Almost 13.3 million Poles have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 so far, the health ministry announced on Thursday.
