Inflation in Poland has reached a 20 year high of 5.4% in August, marking the highest rate of inflation in Poland since 2001.
Since then, inflation has always remained below 5%. Analysts say that part of the acceleration in inflation is due in part to high fuel price increases of around 12% in the last month, coupled with higher food prices and an increase in the price of tourism and recreation following two poor years of poor performance in these sectors.

A new building in Lublin has become the first in the world to utilise a new kind of flexible solar panel using „perovskite” technology.
The new kind of panels, manufactured by Polish company Saule Technologies are flexible and can be „printed” on to curved or uneven surfaces which opens up the possibilities of the kinds of places where solar panels can be installed in the future. The building marks the first in the world commercial implementation of perovskite solar cell technology and uses sun blinds which can be automatically controlled to follow the sun. The blinds cover an area of 32 square metres. The blinds protect the building from overheating and also from cooling down, significantly reducing the cost of air conditioning and heating. At the same time, they produce clean energy from solar illumination.
