Poland is looking to increase the number of beds available for COVID-19 patients to nearly 35,000 in December according to the Polish health ministry.
By the end of November there will be 26 thousand beds. Speaking in Poznan, the minister of health that the situation in Poland is difficult, but compared to the situation in other European countries it is not the worst.

A hospital in Słupsk will be offering a walk in vaccination drive this Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
Vaccinations with preparations by Pfizer, Moderna and single-dose preparations by Johnson & Johnson will be organized in the building of the first hospital complex at ul. Hubalczyki 1 in Słupsk. The same hospital is also opening a new ward for covid-19 patients. The current one is already overcrowded.

British soldiers will support Polish soldiers in service on the border with Belarus. The head of the Ministry of National Defense – met with the secretary of defense of Great Britain at the training ground in Bemowo Piskie.
The ministers expressed the hope that by the end of the month a company of British engineering forces will start service in Poland. The task of soldiers from Great Britain will be, among others, to repair the temporary fence: There are about 15,000 soldiers of the Polish Army and Territorial Defense Forces on the Polish-Belarusian border, who support the border guards and the police.

From next year, waste entering Poland from abroad will be covered by the SENT system – announced the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
It is a system for monitoring the transport of sensitive goods administered by the National Revenue Administration. The Ministry is working on a relevant regulation, which is to be ready by the end of the year, said the deputy head of the ministry, Jacek Ozdoba: The head of the National Tax Administration, Magdalena Rzeczkowska, said that the SENT system eliminates the possibility of illegal activity in the trade of goods. In the last two years, around 10 million transport notifications have been accepted under the system. They are tracked from entering the country until unloading at the destination: The SENT system has been operating since 2017, and includes monitoring of the transport of, among others, alcohol, raw tobacco or fuel.

„To Touch the Image” – the best short film at the American Anthropological Festival. The film was made as part of the research project of the Ethnography Department of the National Museum in Gdańsk called „Kashubian prostrations of the feretrons”.
The American jury, made up of anthropologists and film scholars, takes into account the anthropological functions and values when selecting their works. The authors of the film „To Touch the Image” are Olga Blumczyńska and Barbara Ostrowska. They tell about how an ethnographer from Kashubia returns to her home town to see folk religiosity. He meets young Kashubians facing the challenge of saving the tradition of bowing down and dancing with holy images.
