A 21-year-old US intelligence operative has been arrested after a series of embarrassing and sensitive, top secret US government files were released to the public.

Classified US documents surfaced online 4 days ago, including information on Ukraine’s air defences. US officials have been scrambling to identify the source of the leak and today a 21-year-old air national guardsman.

Early reports suggested the source could be an American, in view of the range of documents published. Speaking on his trip to Dublin on Thursday, US President Joe Biden sought to downplay the significance of the leak for US relations.

The Polish government has said it skeptical about French plans to arrange peace talks between Russian and Ukraine which is being pushed by the French president Emanual Macron.

Speaking to the Polish parliament, Poland’s Defence Minister remarked of the plan, „We are skeptical about French initiatives to lead to some form of talks between Russia and Ukraine. We do not see any signs that Russia is ready to revise its policy of territorial conquests”.

Europe’s first space mission to Jupiter which features a significant contribution from Poland, has been delayed by bad weather after the takeoff was aborted yesterday.

The European Space Agency’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer spacecraft, nicknamed Juice, was set to be launched on the Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. Weather conditions showed there was a risk of lightning to the mission that aims to establish if the planet’s moons could sustain life. The mission control will attempt another take off today.

Worth EUR 1.6 billion, Juice features scientific and technical contributions from twenty-three countries, including a notable contribution from Poland.

Two wanted men have been arrested at Gdańsk airport this week after trying to board flights out of the country. One man was wanted one domestic violence charges, while the other was wanted on criminal charges for fraud.

One of the men was trying to board a flight to Bristol, while the other was attempting to fly to Alicante in Spain. Border guards were alerted as the men attempted to board the aircraft. One of the men will now serve a six-month sentence for fraud, while the second man is set to spend four months in prison on the domestic violence charges.
