Polish authorities have detained three more people in a suspect Russian spy network in the country which aimed to sabotage aid deliveries to Ukraine, bringing the number of arrests in the case to 12. The three new suspects are believed to have been gathering intelligence on routes for the delivery of military assistance to Ukraine. The suspects had also been preparing acts of subversion.

Prosecutors in the eastern Polish city of Lublin charged them with being part of an organised criminal group, as well as with working for foreign intelligence and against Poland. A court has ordered that all three be remanded in custody, and also ruled to extend the detention of the nine original suspects.

Researchers have discovered record levels of mental health issues in young people in Poland, according to a study. The study suggests that the main cause of the current wave of mental health issues among children and teenagers is a „decline in independent activity”, part of the title of the original research paper, published in February 2023 in the Journal of Pediatrics.

The study points to overprotective parenting as the root cause of current levels of anxiety. Because children are missing the opportunity to roam independently, to take risks such as climbing trees, they become unable to handle normal levels of stress.
