Inoculations for teachers of grades 1-3, as well as those who work in kindergartens and nurseries, are scheduled to begin this Friday. Michał Dworczyk, the official spearheading Poland’s inoculation drive, said he hoped the country’s teachers would be vaccinated by the end of February.
Teachers under 60 will be given shots developed jointly by AstraZeneca and Oxford University. The first of 120 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Poland last Saturday.
According to officials, over 1.6 million COVID-19 shots had been administered across Poland as of Sunday.

The Polish capital of Warsaw played host to the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus yesterday as political protests continue across the country
The event included a collective dance challenge of „Jerusalema” and speeches by members of the Coordination Council. Pavel Latushka, one of the exiled opposition leaders currently living in Poland, congratulated Belarusians for „not backing down… despite brutal repressions of the regime and months of violence.”
Polish authorities have called on the European Commission to launch an economic support plan for Belarus, arguing that „over 6 months of continuous pro-democratic protests deserve #EU’s response.”
Mass demonstrations have been ongoing in Belarus since veteran strongman Alexander Lukashenko claimed victory in an August 9 presidential election his opponents say was rigged.

Many Poles reportedly stayed up late last night to watch Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV in the US
The game was broadcast live on TVP Sport in the early hours of the morning in Poland. The victory marks a record-breaking 7th Super Bowl win for 43-year-old quarterback Tom Brady, who now has more individual wins than any team franchise in US history.
Super Bowl LV was celebrated amidst a dramatic drop in new coronavirus cases across the US, welcome news as the number of deaths continues toward the half-million mark. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s game in Tampa, Florida, was played in front of a smaller audience of roughly 22 000 fans, many of whom were vaccinated healthcare workers.

The City of Gdynia celebrated its 95th birthday over the weekend with a colorful parade, special museum exhibitions, and street performances throughout the city
Those who missed out on the weekend’s festivities can still enjoy some of the special exhibits. Starting Wednesday from 17:00-22:00, the city will broadcast a 12-minute audiovisual show on the facade of the Gdynia City Hall building. The show, entitled „Gdynia – this is where Poland begins,” uses archival photographs from the National Digital Archives collections, the Museum of the City of Gdynia, and the State Archives in Gdańsk, Gdynia Branch.
Additionally, a photography exhibition by Jacek Dworakowski will also be on display along ul. Armii Krajowej near Plac Grunwaldzki. The exhibition presents well-known and recognizable places in Gdynia transformed into surreal images on the border of dreams and reality.
