In an official statement, the Polish foreign ministry emphatically “reject[ed] all destabilization attempts, terror acts and any actions aimed against the democratization of the Republic of Iraq.”
The statement further calls on “all parties to refrain from violence, to preserve peace, to act responsibly, and to undertake political dialogue for the sake of de-escalation of tensions, the safety of all Iraqi citizens, and stability in the region.”

LOT Polish Airlines is resuming several flights to the United States as of today, following the US government’s decision to lift a ban imposed on arrivals from Europe.
After a 19-month closure, the United States has opened its borders to fully vaccinated foreign nationals from the European Union and the UK as of today. All travelers into the US, regardless of citizenship, will be required to show proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test to board US-bound flights.
LOT flights resuming today include daily service between Warsaw and JFK International, New York’s biggest and busiest airport. The restored schedule also includes flights from Warsaw and Kraków to Newark Liberty International Airport, which serves the greater New York metropolitan area, as well as direct flights from Warsaw to Chicago.
Flights to Miami international are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, December 10, while flights to Los Angeles will return sometime in March 2022.

The first part of a new exhibition, called „The Future Is Now,” has opened to the public at the riverside Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw.
“Digital Brain” – the first part of the exhibition – is designed to “prompt[] a rethink of the boundaries of trust, privacy, intimacy, security, and the new definitions of art and creativity,” via “the mechanisms of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.”
Robert Firmhofer, director of the Copernicus Science Center, told Polish Radio that the exhibition “allows visitors to look ahead (..) and ponder the role of science and technology in the near future.”
“Digital Brain” officially opened at the Copernicus Science Center last Friday. The other two parts of the exhibition – “Mission: Earth” and “Life 2.0” will open in the summer and autumn of 2022, respectively.

Over 50 Polish film productions, including features, documentaries, and animated movies, are set to be screened as part of the 33rd annual Polish Film Festival in America.
The film Back Then, directed by Kinga Dębska, was screened last Saturday on the festival’s opening night in Chicago. Other films shown at this year’s festival will include Poland’s 2022 Oscar candidate, Leave No Traces, by Jan P. Matuszyński; Jan Holubek’s profoundly moving drama 25 Years of Innocence; and the award-winning animated feature Kill It and Leave This Town by Mariusz Wilczynski.
Leave No Traces took home a Silver Lion award at the 46th annual Polish Film Festival (PFF) in Gdynia this past September, while Kill It and Leave This Town was the first full-length animated film to ever win a Golden Lion at the previous year’s PFF competition in December 2020.
The two-week Polish Film Festival in America is the most extensive annual review of Polish movies outside of Poland and will run until the 23rd of November.
