The Polish Prime Minister is in Brussels today and tomorrow for an EU summit which will focus on the blocs continued support for Ukraine. Mateusz Morawiecki and fellow EU leaders are set to discuss military assistance to Ukraine, including “scaling up our production” and the „delivery of ammunition,”
European Council President Charles Michel said. The EU summit is also expected to discuss competitiveness and energy. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to join the summit by video conference from Kyiv to discuss the EU’s further military support for his country. The summit is also set to discuss fresh sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
The Polish PM is set to call for the creation of a coalition of countries against “Russian imperialism”.

The Polish President has held talks with the UK’s Prince William on aid efforts for Ukraine
Andrzej Duda hosted the Prince of Wales at the presidential palace in Warsaw on Thursday. Prince William, who was continuing an unannounced, two-day visit to Poland, expressed his thanks for troops and local people for their support for Ukraine.
The Polish president’s office said in a tweet that Duda and the UK royal spoke about humanitarian aid to Ukraine as it fights Russia’s invasion. Prince William later posted a photo from the meeting at the presidential palace, saying: Expressing my thanks to President Andrzej Duda for the ongoing generosity and hospitality of the Polish people.”

Poland are today set to take on the Czech Republic in their first match of the Euro 2024 qualifiers in Prague
The match kicks off at 8:45 p.m. at Sinobo Stadium in the Czech capital. The Poles, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, are looking to earn a morale-boosting win under their new Portuguese manager Fernando Santos.
Poland are ranked 22nd worldwide by football’s governing body FIFA, while the Czech Republic are No. 38 in the FIFA table. The Polish team will take on Albania in their next qualifying fixture on home turf in Warsaw on Monday. Poland’s qualifying Group E also includes the Faroe Islands and Moldova.

And finally, renovation works at Gdansk’s main railway station are starting to wind up after almost four years of extensive works and disruption for travellers who use the station
The restoration of the Gdańsk Główny railway station is the largest investment of the Railway Station Investment Program for 2016-2023. Residents who use the station have complained about the length of time the works have taken and the inconvenience of trying to use the station while it is being renovated.
The station will be available in the 2nd quarter of this year, although an exact date is yet to be announced. Works began in September 2019. The cost of the works has been estimated at around PLN 110 million.
