The Polish President and First Lady are set to attend King Charles’ coronation this weekend, it has been announced. King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in the British capital on May 6th in a religious ceremony conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The coronation of the 74-year-old monarch comes after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and will mark Charles’ official ascension to the throne. The Polish president in mid-February met with King Charles at Buckingham Palace in London to discuss humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

The Polish government plans to hold a weekend of events to promote the many ways that European Union funds are used to finance local initiatives in the country. The Open Days of European Funds campaign will be held nationwide from May 12th to 14th.
Audiences will be able to take part in concerts, picnics and competitions designed to highlight various local projects that have been co-financed by the EU, and learn about how to apply for such funding, according to officials. The campaign is part of a wider initiative spearheaded by the EU’s executive Commission. Events focusing on EU funds will be held in all of Poland’s 16 provinces.

A promotional yacht named „I Love Poland” has won the prestigious La Larga regatta around Spain’s Mediterranean island of Mallorca, according to officials. The Polish government sponsored yacht triumphed in the International Rating Certificate class, taking just 24 hours, 38 minutes and 50 seconds to complete the 240 nautical miles of the offshore route.
The yacht crossed the finish line more than 15 hours ahead of the second-placed sailboat in its class. The CEO of the state-run Polish National Foundation (PFN), which owns I Love Poland, thanked the skipper and crew for „another victory this season” and wished them further success.

Local football club Lechia Gdańsk are fighting to remain in the Polish Premier League this weekend in a must-win match against rivals Zagłębie. Both teams are languishing at the bottom of the league table, however Zagłębie are 9 points ahead of Lechia.
If Lechia do not win the match they will be relegated. Lechia have had a dismal season and have lost their last 4 matches, losing 4-0 in their last match. In their last meeting, Lechia beat Zagłębie 3-0.
