Polish and British Vessels Collide in North Sea
Two cargo vessels: the Polish MS Polesie and the British Verity collided with one another near the German island of Heligoland on Tuesday. The incident was reported by the German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies.
The accident occurred about 12 nautical miles from Heligoland around 5am, and is believed to be the cause of the sinking of the Verity. One Verity crew member has since been rescued, but the search for several others of the crew continue with efforts being hindered by bad weather. The Polish vessel MS Polesie is reportedly not at risk of sinking with all crew accounted for.

Israeli Ambassador Accuses Warsaw Protestors of Antisemitism
A protest in support of Palestine recently took place in Warsaw with participants condemning Israel’s “genocide” in Palestine. The Israeli Ambassador to Poland, Yacov Livne, condemned the demonstration for “blatant antisemitism” citing an image of a single Norwegian student, who is currently studying in Poland, holding a banner with an Israeli flag in a trash can with the slogan “keep the world clean.” When questioned on the matter the student clarified that she is not against the Jewish people, but the Israeli government due to their actions against Palestinian civilians.
Ambassador Livne further condemned the entire demonstration due to it being “pro Palestinian” and demanded that Polish authorities “stop this blatant antisemitism before it gets out of control.” Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jabłonski stated that such displays should not take place and that “calling for hatred based on nationality or ethnicity is against the law, and is grounds for dissolving an assembly.”

Court Issues European Arrest Warrant Against Muder Suspect Grzegorz Borys
The court has issued a European arrest warrant for suspected murderer Grzegorz Borys, who has been wanted by authorities since Friday. Borys is suspected of killing his six-year-old son on Fikakowo in Gdynia. Currently there has been no breakthrough in the search for Borys.
Authorities have urged residents to not enter the Tricity Landscape Park between Karwin and Chwarzno where over a thousand officers from multiple uniformed services meticulously comb the area with personnel, helicopters, drones, and thermal imaging. The man is considered armed and dangerous and not safe to approach, anyone who sees Borys or learns of his whereabouts are urged to call the emergency line 112 with their information.

Polish Golfer Wins Masters in Spain
Golfer Adrian Meronk, representing Poland at the Andalucia Masters tournament in Spain, claimed victory, making this his third in the 2022/2023 European tour season. Meronk earned the title hitting 16 under par at San Roque on Sunday.
Meronk previously won the Australian open and Italian open, and thanks to his successful season he is expected to move up from his current rank of number 54 in the world rankings.
