Poland’s economy is expected to grow by 2.7 percent next year, the fastest among large European Union countries, according to the European Commission, the Polish government has said.
Meanwhile, Poland’s consolidated public debt was 48.2 percent of GDP in the second quarter of this year, the finance ministry added. Quoting these figures, the Polish Finance Minister wrote on X that “there are reasons to look into the future with optimism and expect the economic growth to accelerate.” She added that Poland’s ratings were stable, as confirmed by international ratings agencies.

Unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.8 percent in September, unchanged from the previous month and one of the lowest rates in the 27-nation European Union, the bloc’s statistics agency has reported.
The Czech Republic boasted the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in September, at 2.7 percent, followed by Poland and Malta, each with 2.8 percent, according to the Eurostat agency. Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 12 percent, and Greek unemployment was the second-highest at 10 percent. The EU average unemployment rate for September was 6 percent, stabled compared with August.

Nine of Poland’s royal residences are set to open to visitors for free in November it has been announced.
The annual „Free November” initiative is being held in the country for the 12th time. Tourists can check out attractions such as the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the historic Wawel complex in the southern city of Kraków, and the Castle of the Teutonic Order in the northern town of Malbork. Other sites available to the public for free this month include Warsaw’s Wilanów Palace and the Royal Łazienki Museum in the Polish capital. Poland’s Culture Minister said that the annual campaign aims to expand access to museums and other cultural venues across the country in response to requests from the public.

And finally, a baby chimpanzee from Gdańsk zoo underwent surgery over the summer after she broke her leg, the zoo has announced.
The baby chimp, called Karsa, broke her leg in July and required urgent medical treatment to insert a metal plate to bind the leg. Staff at the zoo were concerned that the baby’s mother would try to remove the stitches and the plate after the surgery and so she had to be kept separate for a few days while the initial wound healed, being cared for 24 hours per day by keepers from the monkey section. Karsa tolerated the separation well, and after a week she was reunited with her mother. After further weeks of recovery, both chimpanzees rejoined the rest of the herd.
