Three people were hospitalised after a helicopter plunged into a lake near Mikołajki, north-eastern Poland, on Tuesday.
The helicopter had taken off from a nearby airfield but shortly after take-off its engine failed and it crashed into a lake sinking to a depth of 13-15 metres from where it was recovered using special air lift bags and towed to shore.
A police spokesperson said the helicopter would be taken to the Olsztyn police department car park where it would be secured for further investigation.

Germany is lifting a Covid-related travel ban on people from the UK, Portugal, Russia, India and Nepal.
Visitors who are fully vaccinated will also not be required to quarantine.
Non-vaccinated people will however still be required to quarantine for up to 10 days, with the option to end their quarantine early with a negative test on the fifth day. The countries will now be reclassified as „high incidence areas”, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) said on Monday. On Friday, after talks with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Chancellor Angela Merkel said fully vaccinated Britons would soon be able to visit Germany without having to quarantine.
Meanwhile in Poland the statistics on 6 July 2021 are : 96 new cases, 10 deaths, 96 recoveries. The number of vaccines administered currently stands at 30,148, 610.

Iga Świątek has failed to advance to the quarter-finals at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, losing to the lower ranked Tunisian Ond Jabeur 7: 5, 1: 6, 1: 6.
Hubert Hurkacz remains in the competition however. He completed a comeback on Tuesday afternoon in a rain-interrupted clash against Daniil Medvedev for a place in the quarter-finals. Resuming at 4-3 in the fourth set, after rain stopped play on Monday evening, the Polish 14th seed won 2-6, 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a match lasting just over three hours. Łukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo advanced to the doubles quarter-finals without even having to appear on the court. Fans will be pleased to hear that on July 13, Iga Świątek will visit Gdynia. During a tennis camp, she will meet young people and play a doubles match. The courts at ul. Ejsmonda will also host the French Open finalist Klaudia Jans-Ignacik as well as Hubert Hurkacz and Marcin Matkowski.
