Snipers from the US National Guard are helping to train Polish territorial defence forces.
The week-long sniper course is being held at a centre in Toruń, northern Poland, and focuses on familiarising the soldiers with the principles of covert movement in urban terrain. Additionally, the soldiers are receiving training in urban warfare tactics, which include navigating between buildings and engaging in close-quarters combat. Poland’s Territorial Defence Training Commander said on the initiative, “This is the second instalment of a project we have shared since last year with the Illinois National Guard”.

Poles have been celebrating the Christian feast of Corpus Christi yesterday.
Following tradition, colourful processions were held the length and the breadth of the country on Thursday, to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, one of the most important dates in the Catholic Church. At 11:00 am local time, following a mass celebrated at John the Baptist’s Cathedral in Warsaw, the main procession of a few thousand people started leading through the Old Town to Piłsudski Square. The Catholic faithful in Poland traditionally attend Mass and then embark on a procession of the Blessed Sacrament carried aloft throughout the procession, while the faithful sing. Thousands of worshippers also took to the streets of towns and villages across Poland in religious processions on Thursday.
