Poland’s New FM to Begin Campaign Against EU Treaty Changes
The Polish government has given the green light for the construction of the country’s second nuclear power station in the west of the country in 2035, it has been announced.
US President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that the youngest US hostage held by Hamas, 4-year-old Abigail Edan, had been released in the latest round of exchanges and was now in Israel, reportedly under the care of the Red Cross.
A Polish citizen is among the 41 hostages released thus far by Hamas under a ceasefire deal that took effect last Friday.
Poland’s conservative leader has said that proposed changes to European Union treaties undermine his country’s sovereignty and „represent an attempt to abolish the Polish state.”
The Hungarian Prime Minister, Victor Orban has threatened to block EU aid to Ukraine and veto the country’s accession to the bloc unless leaders agree to review their support strategy for Kyiv, according to the Politico website.
Israel and Hamas agreed to a deal early on Wednesday that stipulated a ceasefire for four days while Hamas released fifty hostages in exchange for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip and the release of one hundred-fifty Palestinian prisoners from Israel.
