The number of confirmed Coronavirus cases stands today at 1.1 million as countries across the globe continue to see record rises in the number of daily cases. As citizens stranded abroad are being repatriated by the their governments the Guardian news reports that more than 250,000 EU citizens are still stranded abroad while more than 350,000 have so far been repatriated. In the UK a special address from the Queen will be broadcast tomorrow, only the fourth such address in her 68 years on the throne. And In China where the coronavirus traces its origins, people across the country paused for three minutes to remember the more than 3,000 medicals workers who have so far succumbed to the illness.

The Polish government is working on a smartphone application to help trace people who have come in contact with those infected with the coronavirus and warn them about the possible risk, the Digital Ministry said yesterday, in an article published by Reuters.
The Polish government have already launched an app for citizens returning from abroad who are required to self-isolate for two weeks. The initiative is designed to slow the spread of the illness and comes as other countries are also hoping to release similar applications in the coming weeks.

The Polish government has decided to postpone a planned trip to western Russia amid the global coronavirus pandemic and a lack of definitive arrangements with Moscow, a government official said on Friday.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said earlier this year he wanted to make the trip to western Russia in April to mark 10 years since the air crash that killed Polish president Lech Kaczyński and 95 others near the Russian city of Smolensk. The Polish prime minister’s office said that the visit will take place at a later date.

A local company which specializes in making diving equipment and drysuits are helping to make protective masks to be used in local hospitals.
The company SANTI, have made 1,400 three-layer interlining face masks after receiving the specialised fabric needed for the masks from Pomeranian Hospitals Group in Gdynia. The masks have now been donated to the Group. The company has also started producing prototypes of hazmat suits as well as protective visors which protect healthcare professionals against the coronavirus disease.
